Grass-Fed Beef Tallow Soap

I have been making soap since I was 15 years old. The first soap I ever made was lard soap. My grandmother taught me how to make it and that was over 50 years ago. Now I make the finest grass-fed beef tallow soap using traditional methods and the highest quality ingredients available.

WHAT IS BEEF TALLOW SOAP?

Beef tallow soap is a traditional product that has been cherished for centuries for its superior moisturizing properties and rich, creamy lather. Made from rendered grass-fed beef fat, this is real soap the way it was meant to be made.

Our beef tallow soap is handmade in small batches at our small soap factory in Connecticut, part of old New England. Each loaf weighs approximately 2.90 lb and provides exceptional quality that lasts.

WE ONLY SELL BEEF TALLOW SOAP LOAVES
We do not sell single bars. Our soap loaves are sold as complete 2.90 lb units. This is our business model and is not subject to change.

WHY GRASS-FED BEEF TALLOW?

The vast majority of soap manufacturers use the cheapest fats and oils they can source. Not us. We use only 100% grass-fed beef tallow from locally sourced cattle when possible. Grass-fed tallow contains higher levels of vitamins A, D, E, and K, along with conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients create a soap that doesn't just clean—it nourishes your skin.

Grain-fed or factory-farmed tallow simply cannot match the quality. If you are looking for the very best in quality soap products you should avoid companies that use inferior tallow sources.

INGREDIENTS

Our grass-fed beef tallow soap contains only the finest all natural ingredients:
  • 100% Grass-Fed Beef Tallow (rendered using traditional methods)
  • Lye (used for saponification to create the soap; final product contains no lye)
  • Glycerin (naturally derived from the soap-making process)
No synthetic fragrances. No artificial colors. No chemical additives. No fillers. No deceptive substitutes.

THE RENDERING & SOAP-MAKING PROCESS

Our beef tallow is carefully rendered from grass-fed beef fat using low-heat traditional methods that preserve the natural nutrients and beneficial properties of the tallow.
The tallow is then combined with lye which then turns the tallow into pure soap and naturally occurring glycerin. No lye remains after the soap is created.

Use sparingly and it will last a long time. Wet the soap, lather in your hands or directly on skin, then rinse thoroughly.

For best results, store your soap in a well-drained soap dish between uses to extend its life.

To Cut Or Not To Cut, That Is The Question ...
Our soap loaves arrive as complete 2.90 lb bars. You can cut it yourself with a sharp knife into smaller pieces for easier handling, or use the entire loaf as-is. Some customers prefer cutting it into 4-6 pieces for convenience.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What size are the soap loaves?

Our beef tallow soap loaves are approximately 2.90 lb each. We only sell complete loaves, not individual bars.

Does it contain lye?

Lye is used for saponification (which turns the oils and tallow into soap and naturally occurring glycerin). No lye remains after the soap is created. All real soap requires lye in the manufacturing process.

Is this soap good for sensitive skin?

Yes. Beef tallow's fatty acid composition closely matches human skin sebum, making it exceptionally gentle and compatible with sensitive skin. Many customers use it successfully for eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

How long does a loaf last?

With proper storage and use, a 2.90 lb loaf can last several months to over a year depending on household size and usage frequency. It dissolves slower than commercial soaps due to its traditional formulation and quality ingredients.

Can I use this as shampoo?

Yes. For starters if you want to use our beef tallow soap loaf for shampoo all you need to do is suds up your hands real well with a piece of soap cut from the loaf then apply to your hair. I also suggest using an apple cider vinegar rinse after shampooing. To make it is real easy: Add 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to 2 pints of water. After your shampooing just pour a bit onto your scalp, work it in a bit to fully get to all hair, then rinse out completely. It closes up the hair follicles and is good for your scalp.

Why grass-fed beef tallow specifically?

Grass-fed beef tallow contains significantly higher levels of vitamins A, D, E, and K, plus beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and CLA compared to grain-fed tallow. These nutrients create superior soap with genuine skin-nourishing properties.
