We Make Real Soap From Animal Fats

I have been making soap since I was 15 years old. The first soap I ever made was lard soap. My grandmother taught me how to make it and that was over 50 years ago. I now make the best all natural animal fat soaps you can buy.

Much better than anything you could ever buy in a store.

We Only Sell Soap Loaves

We only sell Tallow and Lard Soap Loaves weighing approximately 2.90 lb each.

We do not sell single bars or any other size.

Sorry, no exceptions.

Why Animal Fat Soap Is Superior

Animal fats make real soap. It's that simple. Tallow and lard create a hard, long-lasting bar that closely mimics your skin's natural oils. This is traditional soap-making at its finest.

Deeply Moisturizing

Animal fats are rich in fatty acids that match human skin composition. Tallow and lard lock in moisture without clogging pores, making them exceptionally compatible with your skin's natural barrier.

Long-Lasting Bars

Tallow creates a very hard, durable bar. Lard makes a slightly softer but still long-lasting soap. Both dissolve slower than vegetable-based soaps. Use sparingly and it will last a long time.

Gentle & Hypoallergenic

Real animal fat soap is gentle on sensitive skin. No harsh chemicals. No synthetic additives. Just pure, traditional ingredients that have been used for centuries.

Rich, Creamy Lather

Tallow produces a creamy, stable lather. Lard creates a mild, gentle foam. Both clean thoroughly without stripping your skin of its natural oils.

Nutrient-Rich

Animal fats contain vitamins A, D, E, and K. These nutrients support skin health, repair the skin barrier, and provide natural antioxidant protection.

Sustainable & Traditional

Using animal fats honors the whole animal. Nothing goes to waste. This is old-world wisdom meeting practical sustainability.

To Cut Or Not To Cut, That Is The Question...

Our soap loaves are approximately 2.90 lb each. Cut it yourself with a sharp knife, or choose our cutting service when ordering.

Store your soap in any plastic resealable container. Keep it dry between uses and it will last even longer.

Farm-to-Bar Quality You Can Trust

We make our soaps in a small country town at a small soap factory in Connecticut, part of old New England. Our soaps are handmade.

When we source animal fats, we use only the highest quality available. Our tallow comes from grass-fed beef. Our lard comes from pasture-raised pork. We go out of our way to use Locally Sourced ingredients when possible.

This is not factory soap. This is traditional craftsmanship. Small-batch production ensures authenticity and quality in every loaf.

How To Use Animal Fat Soap

Using animal fat soap is real easy. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Cut your loaf: Use a sharp knife to cut bars from your 2.90 lb loaf. Cut to your preferred thickness.
  2. For body and hands: Wet the bar and lather directly on skin, or lather in your hands first then apply. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. For hair: Suds up your hands real well with the soap then apply to your hair. Work into a lather on your scalp and hair. Rinse completely. For best results, follow with an apple cider vinegar rinse: Add 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to 2 pints of water. After shampooing just pour a bit onto your scalp, work it in a bit to fully get to all hair, then rinse out completely. It closes up the hair follicles and is good for your scalp.
  4. Storage: Keep your soap dry between uses. Store in any plastic resealable container or on a well-draining soap dish.

Note: Animal fat soap is concentrated and effective. Use sparingly and it will last a long time.
