It has a unique smell to it due to its active ingredient Carbolic Acid. To this day it is still used by the Red Cross and Hospitals due to its germicidal properties. The only difference between my Carbolic Soap and the Carbolic Soap of years ago is that I do not add artificial red coloring to my soap. My soap is all natural and only contains Carbolic Acid, Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Lye (used for saponification to create the soap; final product contains no lye). Nothing further is added so you get a real pure bar of Carbolic Soap which is a natural light tan in color.
